What do you say about a man who's famous for kissing fish? Well, that there's a method to his madness; that he's one of the most entertaining and enlightened hosts on outdoors television; and that he might just turn you into a fishkisser yourself!
Rex Hunt Fishing Adventures follows Rex on his many fishing expeditions, sometimes halfway around the world, but mostly off the coastline of his native Australia. The scenery is spectacular and the host is charming and committed. Besides being a primer on great fishing destinations, the show teaches people to respect fish and their environment. It also demonstrates the importance of "catch and release" – which Rex has turned into "kiss and release."
Now famous for locking lips with his catch before tossing them back, Rex says he came up with the fishy kiss as a memorable way to teach folks compassion for their gilled brethren. He wanted to convince them that if they're not going to eat their catch, to release it. It's now become his trademark. Rex is also famous for ending each show with his trademark "Yibbida yibbida – that's all folks!" a salute to his cartoon hero - Porky Pig.
Also included in the shows are travel tips and tips on boats; subjects like launching, towing them and the ideal tow vehicles. There are also helpful fishing hints from experts kaj "Bushy" Bush and Steve Starling – great info on tackle, baits and new equipment.
Tune in and discover what TV viewers in over 150 other countries already know – Rex Hunt Fishing Adventures is one of the most entertaining and informative fishing programs on the planet.

Rex Hunt
Host
Born in Mentone Victoria, Australia, Rex Hunt developed a love of the sea early on - he's been fishing from the age of seven. After a slow start in sports, a growth spurt shot him to 6' 4" and he began a long and successful career playing pro football (Australia Rules Football)) for clubs across Australia.
When Rex ended his playing career, he began another, that of a broadcaster for fishing and football. The Rex Hunt Fishing radio show started in 1982 and continues today. In 1992, Rex started his TV fishing show, Rex Hunt's Fishing Adventures. In the years since, the program has aired in close to 160 countries.
"Australia's best-known fisherman" is a dedicated conservationist who founded the Rex Hunt Futurefish foundation in 1999. He says "The Foundation uses its resources to protect and enhance fish habitats...and assists disadvantaged persons and children to actively participate in recreational fishing." In 2003, the Foundation released its 1 millionth fish into recreational waters. Rex is credited with single-handedly changing Australian public views on releasing fish with his "Fish Kissing" and promotion of "Fish for the future."
Rex continues today as the Number 1 radio broadcaster for the Australian Football League with his colorful and entertaining style – a talent for which he's won many prestigious radio awards.
