Lunkerville

About the Show
Lunkerville is a state of mind—a magical place where every bass is a fat lunker and the company is as enjoyable as the fishing. In Lunkerville, everyone’s a pro angler, be he dentist or plumber, cop or corporate executive. Each episode features one of these local characters reeling in big bass at a favorite honey hole.

The show’s engaging host is Mike de Avila, an award-winning filmmaker and devoted angler. Each week, Mike D. travels from town to town uncovering the secrets and rituals of bass fishermen. Unlike most fishing shows, Lunkerville examines the time-tested techniques and secret spots favored by these home-grown experts and passes them on to viewers. Whether it’s landing lunkers in the rowboat pond in New York’s Central Park, hauling in bass on a sweltering Georgia lake, or ice-fishing with his elders on a frozen slab up north, Mike D. does it with heart and good humor.

Tune in and discover why Lunkerville received three Sportsman Channel awards in 2004: viewer favorite fishing show, viewer favorite host, and best freshwater fishing episode.
